Thame were entertained by Bassetsbury Manor Bowls Club, High Wycombe, on a damp Tuesday afternoon 13 September. The weather did us no favours and we lost by 64 shots to 112. On the bright side it was wonderful to have 9 ladies in the team of 15. The two newish skips, Roger Blackburn and Peter Dawe both had good games but the top rink for Thame was Terri Blackburn, Roger Mackriell and skip David Holland.
On 17 September, a beautifully sunny Autumn afternoon, Cheddington Bowls Club hosted Thame. Of the four triples Thame won three but lost overall by 58 shots to 69. All three winning rinks won by one shot but after a count back on ends won, the best winning rink was June Greene, Bill Giles and skip Roger Blackburn. The green played well with woods turning more than three or four feet and together with the bowlers from Cheddington made it a very enjoyable afternoon.
